Go Green
We all know the importance of going green to preserve the environment for our children. For Urban Canvas, going green means adhering to two basic principles - using recycled materials and reducing waste.
Recycled Material
Urban Canvas toys and packaging are made of cardboard, a paper product that is made from recycled fiber that biodegrades quicker than other common toy materials like plastic. Cardboard also has strong fibers that enable it to be recycled many times. In fact, cardboard can be remade into a new paper product close to seven times over. In 2008, 77% of all corrugated cardboard were recycled. That amounts to over 24 million tons of cardboard recycled per year, making it the single most recycled material in the United States.
Reducing Waste
In an effort to reduce waste, Urban Canvas designs reusable toys and avoids excess packaging. All our toys are hand packed in a reusable box. We don’t use plastic bags or cellophane. We don’t unnecessarily tie down any of our parts. We deliberately make it easy to unpack our toys, so that playing begins the minute an Urban Canvas package is opened.
