    A Personalized Name Design on an
    Urban Canvas sculpture

    Materials: Markers, colored pencils, crayons, or oil pastels

    Ages: 4 and up

    Children love to personalize their drawings and designs whenever they have the opportunity. Creating a name design on an Urban Canvas toy is a fun and artistically rewarding experience for young and older children alike.

    Start by using a pencil to lay out the letters of your name. Treat the letters like unique shapes. Lightly sketch out a background design using a variety of line, pattern and shape. Select a color scheme that will make the name stand out. Using complementary or contrasting colors, such as blue and orange, will make the design bold and loud. Using analogous or similar colors, such as green and yellow, will make the design soothing and harmonious. Color in the design using quality markers, colored pencils, crayons, or oil pastels.

    Once the design is complete, your child can proudly display their art piece or store it away in our reusable box to play with and display in the future.

    Create a Holiday Ornament with an

    Materials: Pieces of holiday gift wrap or old magazine pages; scissors; glue stick; holiday stamps and ink pad; holiday stickers; markers

    Ages: 4 and up

    Get into the holiday spirit by creating an ornament with an Urban Canvas Metropolis Train Set and have a fun holiday decoration that you can use for years to come!

    Start by stamping holiday images on the train. Then collect scraps of holiday gift wrap or holiday themed magazine pages. Cut the paper into various shapes, such as snowflakes, mountains, or any other winter themed shape.

    Once you have a variey of shapes. Start arranging the cut shapes. Experiment with different arrangements. You can arrange the shapes in an organized pattern or randomly. Make sure your design stands out by placing dark colored shapes next to light colored shapes. Use markers and holiday stickers to enhance your design.

    Once the design is complete, your child can proudly display their art piece underneath the Christmas tree or use it as part of a decorative holiday arrangement. The best part is the holiday train can be stored away in our reusable box to play with and display the following year!

    Materials: Halloween themed scrapbook paper or old magazine pages; scissors; and glue stick

    Ages: 4 and up

    Who can resist getting into the spirit of Halloween? Create a Halloween themed collage on an Urban Canvas Forest Grasshopper, Spring Butterfly, or Metropolis Train Set and have a fun Halloween decoration that you can use for years to come!

    Start by collecting old magazine pages or scrapbook paper. Look for vibrant seasonal colors like orange, green, brown. Find Halloween and Autumn motifs like skulls, bats, spiders, leaves, or pumpkins. You can purchase Halloween themed paper in a craft store or look through old magazines and catalogs to find what you need.

    Once you have a collection of paper, cut the paper in a variety of large and small shapes. Start arranging the cut shapes. Experiment with different arrangements. You can arrange the shapes in an organized pattern or randomly. Make sure your design stands out by placing dark colored shapes next to light colored shapes.
